¿Qué es lo verdaderamente importante?,   ---
busco en mi interior la respuesta,   ---
y me es tan difícil de encontrar.   ---
Falsas ideas invaden mi mente,   ---
acostumbrada a enmascarar lo que no entiende,   ---
aturdida en un mundo de irreales ilusiones,   ---
donde la vanidad, el miedo, la riqueza,   ---
la violencia, el odio, la indiferencia,   ---
se convierten en adorados héroes,   ---
¡no me extraña que exista tanta confusión,   ---
tanta lejanía de todo, tanta desilusión!   ---

Queda prohibido llorar sin aprender,   It is forbiden to cry without learning,
levantarte un día sin saber qué hacer,   to wake up one day not knowing what to do,
tener miedo a tus recuerdos.   to be afraid of your memories.

Queda prohibido no sonreír a los problemas,   It is forbiden not to smile at problems,
no luchar por lo que quieres,   not to fight for what you want,
abandonarlo todo por miedo,   to abandon everything because of the fear,
no convertir en realidad tus sueños.   not to transform your deams into reality.

Queda prohibido no demostrar tu amor,   It is forbiden not to show your love,
hacer que alguien pague tus deudas y el mal humor.   to make someone pay for your debts and the bad humor.

Queda prohibido dejar a tus amigos,   It is forbiden to leave your friends,
no intentar comprender lo que vivieron juntos,   not to try to understand what you lived together,
llamarles sólo cuando los necesitas.   to call them only when you need them.

It is forbiden not to be yourself in public,
fingir ante las personas que no te importan,   to feign with people you don't care about,
hacerte el gracioso con tal de que te recuerden,   to fake being funny just to make them remember you,
olvidar a toda la gente que te quiere.   to forget all the people who love you.

It is forbiden not to make things by yourself,
no creer en Dios y hacer tu destino,   not to believe in God and forge your fate,
tener miedo a la vida y a sus compromisos,   to be afraid of life and its engagements,
no vivir cada día como si fuera un último suspiro.   not to live each day like it was a last sigh.

Queda prohibido echar a alguien de menos sin   It is forbiden to miss someone without
alegrarte, olvidar sus ojos, su risa,   cheering, to forget his eyes, his smile,
todo porque sus caminos han dejado de abrazarse,   just because your paths stopped being embraced,
olvidar su pasado y pagarlo con su presente.   to forget his past and paying it with his present.

Queda prohibido no intentar comprender a las personas,   It is forbiden not to try to understand people,
pensar que sus vidas valen mas que la tuya,   to think that their lifes are more valuable than yours,
no saber que cada uno tiene su camino y su dicha.   not to know that each one has his way and his happiness.

Queda prohibido no crear tu historia,   It is forbiden not to create your history,
no tener un momento para la gente que te necesita,   not to have a moment for the people who need you,
no comprender que lo que la vida te da, también te lo quita.   not to understand that whatever life gives to you, it takes it away as well.

¿Qué es lo verdaderamente importante?, What is truly important?
busco en mi interior la respuesta, I look for the answer inside myself
y me es tan difícil de encontrar. And it is so hard to find it
Falsas ideas invaden mi mente, False ideas invade my mind
acostumbrada a enmascarar lo que no entiende, Used to disguise what it doesn’t understand
aturdida en un mundo de irreales ilusiones, Confused in a world of fake illusions
se convierten en adorados héroes, Are the worshipped heroes
¡no me extraña que exista tanta confusión, I am not amazed there is so much confusion!
tanta lejanía de todo, tanta desilusión! So much distancing from all, so much disenchantment
Me preguntas cómo se puede ser feliz, You ask me, how can one be happy
cómo entre tanta mentira puede uno convivir, How can one live among so much deceit
Each one has to answer for themselves
